We all knew Glee cast were recording the chapter "A Katy or a Gaga" for the new fifth season. The new chapter is set to release in Fox channel on November 7th. All the fans were excited to hear the covers that Glee made about the two pop stars, and they're finally here!
The chapter will include two Katy songs and two Gaga songs: Lady Gaga "Marry The Night" (By Adam Lambert "Starchild") "Applause" (By Melissa Benoist "Marley Rose", Chord Overstreet "Sam Evans", Kevin McHale "Artie Abrams", Blake Jenner "Ryder Lynn", Farren Criss "Blaine Devon Anderson") Katy Perry "Wide Awake" (By Jenna Ushkowitz "Tina Cohen-Chang", Alex Newell "Unique", Jacob Artist "Jake Puckerman", Becca Tobin "Kitty Wild") "Roar" (By "New Directions", Lea Michele "Rachel Berry", Chris Colfer "Kurt Hummel", Naya Rivera "Santana Lopez", Demi Lovato "Dani", Adam Lambert "Starchild") Listen to the covers here:
Everything is perfect and goes amazing with a slaying #1 single for three months, but wait! That's only a part of the package. Finally Prism went out and everyone seemed happy. But the first week sales became catastrophic only 286,000, when a 5k was expected.
62 out of 100 (B) on metacritic is not a bad mark, I'm not saying is a bad album, but of course Teenage Dreams had our expectations very high. Let's get into details:
Roar. The first single of the album. A great catchy song with a powerful beat, and great lyrics, it's impossible to get a better intro!
Legendary Lovers. Flawless song with a tribal sound and references like "take me down to the river". Very interesting and different song, the vocal edits make it an excellent song!
Birthday. This song is one of the favourites by most of the fans but it kinda disappointed me, sounds like a Teenage Dream + California Gurls mix. This song is, of course, supposed to be a single due it's comercial sound.
Walking On Air. The second promotional single of "Prism". Very catchy beat and easy-selling lyrics "I'm walking on air tonight" can be heard most of the time. The 80's retro sound makes it one of the best songs.
Unconditionally. Second official single. Also know as "Firework 2.0". I would say that this is the best song if the chorus sounded better. The problem is that ironically "unconditionally" makes the song annoying. Is one of the best songs of the album though.
Dark Horse. First promotional single. Very risky R&B song that become in, maybe, the best song in the album. A music video would make it a perfect "Roar" successor.
This Is How We Do. Liking it or not, is the most catchy song and you can't deny it. Kinda reminds me of "Tik Tok" great beat and production.
International Smile. I don't understand too much the title but it's a good song. Cute lyrics and adorable chorus. The good rythm of the track makes me impossible to not liking it.
Ghost. Quiet song, almost sounds like a ballad. Mid tempo song and easy listening.
Love Me. Quiet song, almost sounds like a... Wait? It's almost the same as Ghost. But this time the beat is better and not that boring, like a breathe in the middle of the mess.
This Moment. Another slow song, and amazingly boring verses. But when the chorus comes is like a magic sound envolving you.
Double Rainbow. The masterpiece of "Prism". Maybe the beat won't make you dance, but the lyrics are wonderful. I have never heard a song similar to this performed by a pop artist. This is the "Firework 2.0" that the label is looking for. Congratulations Katy!
By The Grace Of God. A simple ballad with Christianity references, nice vocal range, is a shame it become boring at the second verse.
Spiritual. Here we have a filling song without any kind of purpose. Maybe the worst song of the album. The only good thing is the last chorus because it's THE LAST.
It Takes Two. Great song with a great chorus and lovely lyrics, the best word to describe it is "Beautiful".
Chose Your Battles. If you liked Spiritual you will fall in love with this. The lyrics are horrible and boring verses. I don't know what to say to this.
An album full of hits compensated with boring tracks. I didn't dislike the album when I heard it and I still don't do, it's just that I expected more... I don't know... "Darks".
"Story Of My Life" is the new single of One Direction's album "Midnight Memories". The video came to VEVO yesterday and it was suposed to beat Miley's "More views in 24 hours" record. In this emotional video, we can see some pictures of the young band when they were children with their family (sister, mother, ...) and how they look now they're "grown". Here it is:
The pop princess Britney premiered her new single of the upcoming album "Britney Jean" which is set to release anytime of December.
"Perfume" is a quiet pop track with good vocals, it's an awesome and intense song full of meaningful lyrics. The "Work Bitch" successor is nothing but similar to the first single. It takes us back to past times when she was a sweet teenage girl. Only one thing I have to admit, she sounds as sexy as always.
We wish the best to Britney and her "Perfume", hopefully she can chart higher this time. Do you like it?
Today, the 5x Grammy winner Lady Gaga, performed the second promotional single of her leaked upcoming album "ARTPOP" called "Dope" in the YTMA.
During it's first day on itunes, "Dope" is selling almost the quadruple as Eminem's "The Monster" but it's not expected to stay more than two days on top.
"Dope" is very different compared to the other "ARTPOP" songs we have already listened: The first single "Applause", the first promotional single "Venus", the second official single "Do What U Want" featuring R Kelly and that weird track called "Aura".
"Dope" is a great ballad with drugs references (which is very common in Gaga), similar to "Speechless" or "Yoü And I" but this time the track has a live essence and a great vocal range like always. It will give you an intense feeling, very emotional.
